If you had to count the number of different ways in which lasers have made a difference in your life, how many could you possibly name? Most of us are able to recognize the things that are done with a simple diode laser and we may have various types of electronic equipment that make use of these items as well. For example, we probably listen to CDs and watch DVDs or blue Ray movies regularly. All of these items would be unavailable if it weren’t for the laser. In addition, we may have used one of these items at sometime in the past in order to enhance our vision, as is the case with laser surgery for our eyes. Additional surgical procedures are also done, such as the removal of tattoos and to use for precise cutting when it is necessary. This not only cuts down on the damage that may occur to surrounding tissue, it also can help to reduce the amount of bleeding that is seen during surgical procedures.
Another way that lasers has affected our lives, although we may not think about it very often is in the industry. Many of the items that are in use today require very precise laser cutters in order to make sure that there is no play in the item. Additionally, the laser is used for very precise measurements in a number of different industries and it is likely that you have an item in your home that has taken advantage of this as well.
